Kayleigh Mathews turned one of the toughest Blind Auditions into a four-way battle on The Voice Season 30 after delivering a powerful rendition of Vince Gill’s “When I Call Your Name.”
The 31-year-old singer from Tucson, Arizona, took the stage during Blind Auditions Part 5, hoping to earn a spot on one of the four coaches’ teams. Instead, she quickly became the center of attention as Adam Levine, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah all turned their chairs.
Adam was the first coach to make a move, followed by Riley and Kelly, while Queen also turned before the performance came to an end.
Both Adam and Queen gave Kayleigh a standing ovation, setting up a competitive round of pitches from all four coaches.
Adam Levine Makes His Case
Adam Levine was quick to acknowledge that Riley Green might appear to have an obvious advantage because of his country background.
Still, Levine argued that The Voice could give Kayleigh access to a different set of opportunities and strategic choices as she moves forward in the competition.
He praised the way she filled the room with her voice and called her a “magnificent talent,” adding that he would be honored to coach her.
Queen Latifah Calls Her “Queen Kayleigh”
Queen Latifah gave Kayleigh an equally enthusiastic response, even dubbing her “Queen Kayleigh” after the performance.
Latifah said Kayleigh absolutely deserved the four-chair turn and described the audition as a spiritual experience.
She explained that the longer Kayleigh sang, the more connected she felt to the performance, adding that she wanted to help her find songs that could showcase the beauty of her voice and allow her to continue reaching listeners.

Riley Green also praised Kayleigh for taking on a Vince Gill song, calling Gill one of the greatest vocalists in country music.
Kelly Clarkson Hears Patty Loveless and LeAnn Rimes
Kelly Clarkson, who was the last coach to give her feedback, immediately made it clear that she was a fan.

Clarkson said she could hear traces of Patty Loveless and LeAnn Rimes in Kayleigh’s voice, pointing to the country influences that came through during the performance.
With all four coaches making their case, Kayleigh ultimately had to decide where she believed she would have the best chance to grow.
She chose Team Queen Latifah.
By the end of the Blind Auditions, Queen Latifah had 11 artists on her team, while Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green each had 10.
The competition now moves forward with Kayleigh beginning her next chapter under Queen Latifah’s guidance.
