Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding featured plenty of unforgettable moments, but one of the biggest highlights came when one of the singer’s longtime musical heroes took the stage.
Stevie Nicks performed during the couple’s lavish wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, adding another memorable chapter to her decades-long friendship with Swift.
The appearance was confirmed the following morning by Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts, who attended the ceremony.

“We can confirm that, yes, Stevie Nicks did perform,” Roberts said on the broadcast, though she did not reveal which songs the Fleetwood Mac legend sang.
Roberts also described the celebration as surprisingly intimate despite the enormous guest list, while fellow host Michael Strahan called it “their dream wedding.”
Reports that Nicks would perform had circulated before the ceremony. Less than a week earlier, Rolling Stone reported that she had been invited not only as a guest but also as one of the evening’s performers. On the wedding day, The New York Times reported that both Nicks and Sir Paul McCartney were scheduled to perform, adding that Nicks and Swift completed a soundcheck together before guests arrived.

McCartney was later seen leaving Madison Square Garden after the reception, although his representatives did not comment publicly.
Swift and Nicks have shared a close friendship for more than 15 years.
Their relationship began at the 2010 Grammy Awards, where they performed together, combining Swift’s “You Belong With Me” with Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Rhiannon.” Since then, Swift has often spoken about the guidance and encouragement she has received from the rock icon.
During an interview with Stephen Colbert in 2025, Swift described Nicks as one of the most influential people in her life.
“I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly,” Swift said. “Being able to talk with her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through… she paved the way for me and many other artists out there.”

She added that Nicks had shared a “magical, wonderful, wise approach” that continues to inspire her.
The admiration has always gone both ways.
Nicks previously revealed that Swift’s song “You’re On Your Own, Kid” helped her cope with the death of Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie. She has also been openly supportive of Swift’s relationship with Kelce.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2024, Nicks said she hoped the couple would continue building their future together.
“She’s in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man,” Nicks said. “I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset. He does his thing and she does her thing, and then they come back together and get married and have babies if she wants that. I just want all of that for her.”
Just weeks before the wedding, Swift gave fans another nod to her longtime friend by wearing a “Stevie Knicks” T-shirt while attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10.
The July 3 ceremony attracted an impressive lineup of celebrity guests, including Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn.

Although it has not been confirmed whether Sheeran performed during the reception, Swift previously joked that it would be nearly impossible to keep him away from the microphone.
During an interview on the UK’s Hits Radio Breakfast Show, she laughed about the possibility of Sheeran singing at her future wedding.
“That’s the thing, he’s like, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings,'” Swift said. “It’s like, ‘Ed, if there is a stage, you know you’ll be on it.’ He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want.”
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025 after dating for more than two years.
Sharing the news with fans on Instagram, the couple captioned their joint post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
