Although Brooks Rosser was eliminated from “American Idol” season 24 during the April 27 live broadcast, the 23-year-old Baltimore singer is thrilled he made it to the Top 7 and received such glowing reviews from the judges throughout his journey.

In fact, he joked to Danielle Fishel on the after-show podcast that he might just get their compliments tattooed on his body so he never forgets!

Fishel welcomed Rosser and R&B singer Daniel Stallworth to the podcast after both were cut from the competition, marveling at how much judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan loved both of their voices.

“Brooks, not too long ago, you were at home working, living life,” she said to Rosser, who works at a memory care facility, often singing to the residents. “Now Luke has compared you to Van Morrison. Lionel is saying he’s glad he knows you. Carrie says you’re a unicorn. What have those comments and compliments meant to you?”

“Means the world,” Rosser replied. “Uh, makes me want to get them tattooed.”

Laughing, Fishel said, “I want to see those! They’re a little long. Maybe we could shorten them to like catch phrases.”

Rosser told her, “Yeah, I’m just so proud of myself for this whole journey. And I love that they’re so supportive even on and off camera. Like, they all just gave me a hug and said this is not the end at all, you know?”

The judges have, indeed, heralded Rosser throughout the competition, stunned by the tone of his voice and the fact he’d never performed for an audience before auditioning for “American Idol.”

Rosser, who has told producers in pre-recorded segments on the show that he’s always had a hard time connecting with people and making lasting friendships, told Fishel that the relationships he’s made on “American Idol” are just as precious to him as the growth he’s made as a singer.

When Fishel asked what he’ll miss the most, Rosser said, “Be stuck in a room with all these people for 15 hours a day. That’s about it. I’m so grateful (for) this whole journey.”

In addition the friendships he’s made, Rosser also left the competition with something he didn’t have going in: a girlfriend. He and fellow contestant Rae Boyd, who was cut from the Top 11, confirmed their relationship live on the April 20 show.

Boyd, 25, and Rosser both live near Baltimore, and after their on-air hard launch, he told reporters that when they realized they were from the same area, they started to hang out back home, in between rounds of the competition, and “we clicked,” per Swooon.

Boyd was eliminated from the competition during the April 13 episode, when live voting narrowed down the field from the Top 11 to the Top 9. Her beau made it through, though, and performed “The Climb,” featured in “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” during the April 20 Disney Night show.

After receiving feedback from the judges and before learning he’d advanced again into the Top 7, Seacrest asked Rosser about his connection with his fellow contestants, pointedly asking, “Did you connect with anybody [on the show]? I hear you’re a real Prince Charming!”

Brooks, who was notoriously shy on-camera, sheepishly said, “Oh god. I have to say it?” Seacrest then exclaimed, “Somebody’s here to surprise you. She’s really excited. Rae, one of the biggest Brooks fans!”

The stage door behind them rose up to reveal Rae, who bounded out toward them. After embracing Brooks, she declared, “The princess is here to claim her prince!”
