31-year-old Nashville singer Brandy Neelly has spoken out after becoming the first singer eliminated from *The Voice* Season 30, following Riley Green’s difficult decision to send sister duo Ferryn & Brinkley through instead of her.
Neelly took the high road after her Team Riley Battle Round, thanking Green and the show for giving her the chance to perform on one of television’s biggest singing stages.

“What a STAGE what a moment!! THANK YOU Riley for believing in me & The Voice for giving me the opportunity 🫶🎉,” Neelly wrote on Instagram after the episode. “So grateful for all the love and support & all the new friends I got to make along the way!”
Rather than focusing on the elimination, Neelly looked ahead to what comes next, teasing that new music is already on the way.

“Can’t wait for yall to hear my new music coming out! Stay tuned 😜,” she added.
Her post quickly filled with messages of support from fans, friends and fellow contestants. Viewers called her an “amazing” singer, a “star” and a “gem,” while others praised her performance and encouraged her to keep going.
One supporter wrote, “I was rooting for you soooo hard,” while another told her, “You deserve everything and more!” Another fan predicted that the *The Voice* stage would be just the first of many big stages for Neelly.
Her Team Riley journey began during the Blind Auditions, when she performed Jo Dee Messina’s Lesson in Leavin’. The 31-year-old managed to turn both Green and Queen Latifah’s chairs, giving her a choice between two coaches.
Green ultimately won her over, and Neelly joined his team.

But her first Battle Round proved to be an especially difficult challenge for the first-year coach. Green paired Neelly with Ferryn & Brinkley, sisters from Sevierville, Tennessee, who had impressed him during their Blind Audition with When Will I Be Loved by the Everly Brothers.
The three singers took on Miranda Lambert’s Mama’s Broken Heart, with Green and guest mentor Carly Pearce helping them prepare.
After the performance, Green admitted that the decision would not be easy.
“This is my first time doing this,” Green said. “It’s really tough to make a decision between these [acts].”

Green also acknowledged that Ferryn & Brinkley had an advantage because they were already accustomed to singing together. At the same time, he had a personal connection with Neelly after learning during her audition that she had previously made a birthday cake for him through her Nashville baking business.
“So there’s an advantage there too,” Green said. “It’s gonna be painful for me either way.”
In the end, Green chose Ferryn & Brinkley.
“They’re the only duo on the show,” he explained. “Individually, they’re super talented, but the fact that they can sing together and their harmonies are so tight is what really makes them something that I think could be a real contender on The Voice.”

Viewers remain divided over the decision
Brandy’s elimination quickly sparked debate among The Voice viewers, with many fans saying they wanted to see her continue in the competition.
“I think Brandy should have won she was the best,” one viewer wrote.
Another fan called Riley’s decision a “Big mistake,” adding that Brandy “had way more of a powerful voice than the other 2.”

Others focused on the unusual matchup, with one viewer saying, “Duo’s and trio’s should have to go up against other duos and trios.”
Still, not everyone disagreed with Green’s decision. Some viewers praised Ferryn & Brinkley for their tight harmonies, while others said all three singers sounded great together.
“I loved this performance. I would not have wanted to be Riley. It would’ve been hard to choose,” one viewer admitted.
