The fallout from The Invader article continued to spread through Port Charles on the Friday, October 9, episode of General Hospital. Chase pushed Willow to fight back against Lulu and the newspaper, Sidwell denied the allegations in the explosive story, and Anna shared valuable information with Justine. Meanwhile, Sonny suffered another emotional blow when Gio announced plans to move out, while tensions surrounding Monet’s connection to Jordan continued to grow.
Chase Wants Willow to Fight Back
Convinced that the Quartermaines were behind the story published in The Invader, Chase urged Willow to sue Lulu and the newspaper for libel. However, Willow knew the article’s allegations were true and wanted to avoid revealing that fact to Chase.
Earlier, Britt advised Willow to issue a statement denying Sidwell’s accusations and leave it at that. She believed pursuing legal action would only make the situation worse.
After Britt left, Chase remained determined to retaliate against the Quartermaines. He insisted that Lulu should retract the article and argued that Willow could not allow the family to intimidate her.
Willow hesitated, worried that involving Chase would pull him deeper into his own ongoing problems with the Quartermaines. Chase, however, made it clear that his motivation went beyond protecting her.
“Trust me, it’s not just for you,” he declared. “It’s for both of us.”

With Chase determined to challenge the newspaper, the question remains whether Willow will follow his advice or take Britt’s more cautious approach.
Anna Helps Justine Investigate Sonny
At the Port Charles Police Department, Justine told Dante that she was prepared to prosecute Willow if she could establish that Sidwell’s allegations were true. She also questioned why Drew had not been quoted in the article.
When Anna arrived at the station, Justine welcomed the opportunity to consult her because of her former experience with the WSB. Dante was initially reluctant to involve Anna, knowing she had been struggling with her mental health.
Nevertheless, Anna proved useful by sharing information about a WSB drug cocktail capable of causing locked-in syndrome.
Dante then headed to General Hospital to obtain a statement from Sidwell. Meanwhile, Justine apologized to Anna for previously accusing her of showing favoritism toward Sonny.
Admitting that she no longer fully trusted her own ability to remain objective, Justine asked Anna to review the evidence surrounding the assaults on Curtis and Sidwell. She wanted Anna to determine whether the evidence could support a case against Sonny.
The investigation could bring further trouble for Sonny as authorities continue examining his possible involvement in the attacks.
Britt Offers Sidwell a Possible Escape

At General Hospital, Isaiah and Tristan updated Sidwell on his condition following open-heart surgery. Sidwell revealed that he had been experiencing vivid dreams, which Isaiah attributed to the powerful painkillers he was taking.
When Isaiah mentioned that both Sidwell and Curtis could eventually return to Pentonville, Sidwell ominously suggested that their futures might not unfold as expected.
Britt later visited Sidwell, hoping to learn more about his explosive interview with Lulu. Sidwell was stunned when she told him that his words had appeared in The Invader. He had believed his conversation with Lulu was a hallucination.
As Britt pieced together the circumstances, she concluded that Sidwell had obtained the paralytic from Cullum, who had taken it from the WSB. She then offered Sidwell a way out of his predicament.
Britt appeared pleased to show him just how widely his statements had circulated, but the details of her proposed escape remained unclear.
When Dante arrived to question Sidwell about the article, Sidwell insisted that Lulu’s story was entirely false. His denial added another complication to an already tangled investigation.
Gio Moves Out, Leaving Sonny Devastated

Before visiting the police station, Anna met her granddaughter Emma for tea at Bad Jen Café. Anna was delighted to learn that Emma planned to get an apartment with Gio.
Emma also explained the conflict between Gio and Sonny over Curtis’s beating. Anna encouraged her granddaughter to stand by her boyfriend as he navigated the difficult situation.
At Sonny’s house, Gio delivered the same news to his grandfather. Sonny wondered whether Dante had influenced Gio’s decision, but Gio insisted that moving out was his own choice.
Gio admitted that he was struggling to believe Sonny was innocent. Sonny understood why those around him suspected his involvement and did not want Gio to feel trapped between family members.
The situation became even more painful when Emma arrived and told Sonny directly that she believed he had ordered the beating.
Sonny maintained that he would prove his innocence, especially for Gio’s sake. However, as Gio prepared to leave, he delivered another blow: he no longer needed Sonny’s help finding a new music manager.
The announcement devastated Sonny, who was already facing mounting suspicion and growing distance from those closest to him.
Stella Questions Monet’s Motives

Stella welcomed Portia back to General Hospital on her first day after maternity leave. Portia was grateful that Stella and Marshall had agreed to help care for Des while she returned to work.
When Isaiah joined them, Portia noticed the tension between him and Stella. Later, Isaiah told Portia that he thought it would be best for the family if he limited his interactions with Des to weekends.
Portia pushed back, making it clear that Isaiah was her partner and had a place in her life. She also insisted that Stella and Marshall would need to accept that arrangement.
Elsewhere, Curtis discussed Jordan’s newly revealed half-sister with Monet. He admitted that he had not known Jordan had a sister because she rarely talked about her family. Curtis said he would discuss the discovery with his girlfriend when he returned from Germany.
He also questioned why Monet had deliberately kept her connection to Jordan hidden. Monet explained that she wanted Curtis to see her as a capable attorney before learning about the family relationship. She said Jordan had always treated her as the younger sister who could never do anything right.
When Stella entered Curtis’s room, he introduced Monet as Jordan’s sister. Stella immediately grew suspicious and escorted the lawyer out, reasoning that Monet’s undisclosed family connection had to mean she was hiding something.
Stella and Curtis agreed that they did not trust Monet. Still, Curtis believed hiring her was worth the risk because she would have to demonstrate her abilities.
With Monet’s motives under scrutiny and the family dynamics becoming increasingly complicated, her new connection to Jordan could have significant consequences.
What Happens Next on General Hospital?

Chase wants Willow to sue Lulu and The Invader, but Willow must decide whether taking legal action is worth the risk. Meanwhile, Britt’s offer to Sidwell could change the course of the investigation, and Sonny’s relationship with Gio has suffered another painful setback.
Will Anna’s review of the evidence help authorities build a case against Sonny? And will Stella uncover a legitimate reason to distrust Monet?
The answers could shape the next chapter of the drama in Port Charles.
