Who is Brianna Cameron? The 13-year-old New Jersey singer with a huge voice just stunned Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green on The Voice. But her powerful Blind Audition was far from her first big moment on stage.

Brianna Cameron, a singer, songwriter and actress from Union, New Jersey, took the stage during the Season 30 premiere and performed Ike and Tina Turner’s River Deep – Mountain High.

Kelly Clarkson was the first coach to turn her chair, with Riley Green following soon after. Adam Levine praised Brianna for delivering such a powerful performance at just 13, while Kelly said she thought the young singer was “grown” because of how strong and confident she sounded.

Riley was just as impressed, telling Brianna that she had “the biggest voice” he had heard on the show.

But Brianna had already built an impressive resume long before stepping onto The Voice.

She won a major singing competition at 9

In 2022, when Brianna was only 9 years old, she won first place in the Child Star of Tomorrow competition at the Apollo Theater. She performed Whitney Houston’s Greatest Love of All and took home a $5,000 prize.

That victory opened another major door for the young singer.

Brianna later appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she performed the Whitney Houston song again. During the appearance, she credited her mother for helping support her talent and showed the personality that has followed her throughout her young career.

She played young Tina Turner

Brianna’s experience with Tina Turner’s music went even further.

By 2024, she was touring with the Broadway production Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, playing young Tina Turner.

The experience also gave Brianna an important lesson about performing and staying true to herself. She said one of the biggest things she learned from Tina’s story was “to just be yourself.”

She started performing as a little kid

Brianna comes from a musical family and has said she started performing when she was only 3 or 4 years old.

She also plays both piano and guitar, and has shared covers online while accompanying herself on the instruments.

Her love of music started early. As she once explained, listening to music made her happy, which inspired her to make music that could make other people happy too.

She has already appeared on TV

Before The Voice, Brianna also appeared on the television series The Equalizer.

Her past work even caught the attention of Queen Latifah during her The Voice audition. The coach pointed out that she and Brianna had crossed paths through New Jersey and The Equalizer before eventually meeting again on the singing competition.

Brianna also won Union’s Got Talent in 2019, adding another achievement to her resume before she had even reached her teenage years.

Then came her The Voice moment

On The Voice, Brianna showed that her voice had only gotten bigger.

After hearing River Deep – Mountain High, Kelly praised her maturity and told the 13-year-old that she believed she could make it to the finale. Riley also made a strong pitch, even bringing his dog Carl onto the stage while trying to win Brianna over.

But after all the coaching battles, Brianna chose Team Kelly.

Now, the New Jersey teenager is taking the next step in a career that started when she was just a little girl. And with a competition win, national tour, TV appearances and years of performing already behind her, Brianna Cameron may have a lot more surprises ahead.
