Outlander: Blood of My Blood is drawing intriguing parallels with the original Outlander series as Seema’s growing connection to Henry creates fresh danger for Julia. Actress Hermione Corfield has opened up about Julia’s emotional reaction to her husband’s betrayal and the unsettling threat that could make Seema a new version of Laoghaire.
In the latest episode, titled “A Portion of My Soul,” Julia, played by Corfield, finally reunites with Henry, portrayed by Jeremy Irvine, at the Grant estate as he returns to his duties as a bladier. However, their reunion comes with a painful revelation about Henry’s past.
Julia discovers that Henry had been involved with Seema, played by Lauren McQueen, a woman who recently began working at Castle Leathers. Seema had previously spoken about an encounter with a kind man, but Julia eventually learns that the man was Henry, who had visited her at a brothel seeking comfort after believing Julia was gone forever.
The revelation forces Julia to confront the complicated reality of her husband’s grief, mental health struggles and infidelity.
Julia Is Hurt by Henry’s Betrayal
Corfield believes Julia’s anger is entirely understandable, even as she tries to consider the trauma Henry experienced while thinking his wife was lost to him.
“I think that she reacted fairly, and I think you would be furious,” the actress told TV Insider.
“She’s constantly in that balance of understanding his mental health and the PTSD but also feeling her own feelings of betrayal and hurt,” Corfield explained. “So I think, in that scene, we see her go through all the journey and movement through all that pain.”
Although Julia and Henry eventually begin to repair their relationship, forgiveness will not erase what happened between him and Seema.
“She’s gonna forgive, but she’s not gonna forget for a while, and I think it will take a minute,” Corfield said.
The couple manages to spend some meaningful time together before Julia returns to Castle Leathers. Yet their reconciliation does not mean the danger surrounding them has passed.
Seema’s Actions Echo Laoghaire’s Jealousy
Beyond the emotional fallout of Henry’s affair, Julia must now contend with a potentially more sinister threat connected to Seema.
During TV Insider’s Blood of My Blood aftershow, Corfield discussed an unsettling discovery: an ill-wish had been left in Julia’s baby’s cradle. The incident recalls a disturbing moment from the first season of the original Outlander, when a similar object was found beneath Jamie and Claire’s bed.

In that earlier storyline, Laoghaire, played by Nell Hudson, acted out of jealousy toward Claire, portrayed by Caitriona Balfe. Her hostility eventually escalated to accusations of witchcraft that nearly cost Claire her life.
The similarities raise an unsettling question: Could Seema follow a similarly dangerous path?
Corfield suggested that Julia already suspects something happened between Seema and Henry, but needed her husband to confirm it.

“I think instinctively she knows Seema and Henry have been intimate, but she needs Henry to confirm that,” the actress said.
Once Henry confirms the affair, Julia must process the fact that her husband slept with another woman. Her emotional distress intensifies when Seema subsequently appears with a knife.
“So when she comes back, that’s all been confirmed, so obviously she knows that her husband slept with another woman, so she’s not feeling great, and then Seema appears with a knife, so the threat level goes up a bit,” Corfield added.
How Far Will Seema Go?
The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers uncertain about Seema’s intentions and the extent of the danger facing Julia and her family.
While the parallels with Laoghaire are difficult to ignore, Seema’s ultimate motivations and next moves remain unclear. Her connection to Henry has already caused significant damage to Julia’s marriage, and the appearance of a knife suggests that the conflict could become more dangerous.
Whether Seema will ultimately mirror Laoghaire’s jealousy and hostility remains to be seen. For now, Julia faces the difficult task of rebuilding trust with Henry while confronting a potential threat much closer to home.
