Actor and disability rights advocate RJ Mitte, best known for his breakout role as Walter White Jr. on the critically acclaimed drama Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34.
Mitte was found deceased at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at his residence in Brownsville, Texas. Authorities confirmed that an investigation is currently underway and an autopsy will be performed, with reports indicating the actor died by suicide.

A representative for Mitte confirmed his passing in a statement, remembering him as a passionate advocate and philanthropist. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age three, Mitte brought authentic representation to television, starring in 56 episodes of Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013 alongside Bryan Cranston. Beyond his acting career, Mitte served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, using his public platform to champion greater inclusion for actors with disabilities across the entertainment industry.

Mitte’s passing comes one year after his engagement to his partner Kennedy Suarez during a 2025 charity benefit in Carlsbad, California. In addition to his advocacy work, the actor served as president of The Mitte Foundation, a family charity dedicated to supporting marginalized communities in South Texas.
