New details have revealed the devastating injuries suffered by a Florida woman who died after an alligator attacked her while she was swimming with friends.
According to an autopsy report released by the Orange County Medical Examiner, 31-year-old Brittany Clark died from multiple blunt force injuries after the June 28 attack in the Econlockhatchee River near the Barr Street Trailhead in Little Big Econ State Forest.

Clark had been swimming with her boyfriend and a group of friends in about three feet of water when the alligator suddenly attacked. Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission previously said there was no indication the group had done anything to provoke the animal.
The autopsy found that Clark’s left arm was nearly completely severed at the shoulder, while her right forearm was also almost completely amputated. Investigators also documented bite marks on her left collarbone, shoulder blade and upper arm.
In addition to the severe bite wounds, the report noted multiple fractures, cuts, bruises and other injuries across her body. The medical examiner concluded that all of the injuries were consistent with a fatal alligator attack.
During the terrifying incident, Clark’s boyfriend called 911 while trying to pull her from the alligator. She was rushed toward a nearby hospital but died before arriving.
After the attack, wildlife officials captured and euthanized two alligators found near the scene as part of the investigation.

Clark’s boyfriend, Chance Allison, later shared an emotional tribute on Facebook, saying he was struggling to accept what had happened.
“We had so many things planned out and memories to be made,” he wrote. “You were such a special person and did not deserve to go out in such a way.”
Earlier this month, Clark’s father, Robert Clark, remembered his daughter as someone who loved both people and nature. He also thanked the friends and loved ones who stayed by her side during her final moments.
“I just want them to know they are so loved,” he said. “They did everything they could do to make it better for her before she ultimately passed.”
