Dollywood duo Ferryn and Brinkley speak out after Riley Green picks them over Brandy Neelly on The Voice, as fans remain divided

Dollywood duo Ferryn and Brinkley have spoken out for the first time after winning their first Battle Round on The Voice and advancing to Cut Week, following Riley Green’s decision to choose the sisters over solo singer Brandy Neelly.

The sisters faced Neelly on Tuesday’s episode as Green kicked off the Battle Rounds with his first major decision as a new coach. The three singers performed Miranda Lambert’s Mama’s Broken Heart, with Green bringing in country star Carly Pearce to help prepare them for the battle.

Before the performance, Green admitted he was not looking forward to the decision ahead.

“This will be a tough decision and certainly one I’m not looking forward to,” he said.

All four coaches praised the performance afterward. Kelly Clarkson called Neelly a “force” while praising Ferryn and Brinkley for being “so tight and cool and special.”

Green also acknowledged how difficult the choice was.

“This is going to be painful for me either way,” he said before ultimately naming Ferryn and Brinkley the winners.

In a confessional, Green explained why he chose the sisters, pointing to their status as the only duo on the show and their strong harmonies.

“The fact that they can sing together and their harmonies are so tight is what really makes them something that could be a real contender on The Voice,” he said.

Ferryn and Brinkley thank Brandy

After the episode, Ferryn and Brinkley shared an emotional message on Instagram, celebrating their Battle win while making sure to recognize the singer they competed against.

“If you haven’t already seen our Battle performance, GO WATCH IT!!!” they wrote. “We are absolutely blessed to be given every opportunity to perform on @nbcthevoice stage.”

The sisters also thanked fans for their support and described the Battle as a “difficult bitter sweet moment” they would never forget.

They gave special thanks to Neelly, calling her “an incredible partner” who pushed them to reach their “absolute full potential with your STAR POWER.”

“Forever grateful and see yall in Cut WEEK!” they added.

The message comes as viewers remain divided over Green’s decision. Many fans praised Ferryn and Brinkley’s tight harmonies, while others continued to argue that the matchup was difficult for Neelly because she was competing alone against a duo.

One viewer said, “Those sisters harmonize perfectly…you don’t get that very often,” while another wrote, “I loved this performance. I would not have wanted to be Riley. It would’ve been hard to choose.”

At the same time, some viewers still believed Neelly deserved to advance, with one fan writing, “I think Brandy should have won she was the best.”

Others questioned whether duos and trios should compete directly against solo singers, while several fans suggested that all three women should form a country group together.

For Ferryn and Brinkley, however, the Battle victory gives them another chance to prove themselves as they head into Cut Week, where the competition will become even more intense.
