More than two decades after his passing, Waylon Jennings is receiving one of entertainment’s highest honors.

The legendary outlaw country pioneer has been selected as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027, earning a posthumous star in the Recording category. Among the 32 honorees announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Jennings stands alone as the only recipient being recognized after death.

His inclusion places him alongside an eclectic group of music legends and contemporary stars, including The Ramones, Grandmaster Flash, and Sia, reflecting the wide range of artists being celebrated for their lasting contributions to music.

The Class of 2027 also features acclaimed actor Sam Elliott, a name that is sure to resonate with many country music fans thanks to his longtime connection to Western culture and Americana.

For Jennings, the recognition comes nearly 25 years after his death in 2002. The country icon was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame just one year before he passed away, cementing his place among the genre’s greatest artists.
