Four days after the couple’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the guest list — including those who did not attend — continues to fuel conversation online. According to Page Six, several famous figures had been invited to the highly anticipated event but ultimately missed the milestone moment because of professional commitments and scheduling conflicts.

Among those who had to decline the invitation was legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor, the musician Taylor Swift was named after.

James Taylor revealed that he and his wife had planned to attend the wedding of Swift and Travis Kelce, but his longtime tradition of performing at the Tanglewood Music Festival prevented him from being there.

The 78-year-old musician was performing his annual Independence Day concert at the Koussevitzky Music Shed in Lenox, Massachusetts, on the same day as the wedding.

Despite missing the celebration, James Taylor sent his heartfelt wishes to the newlyweds.

“I do want to wish the couple all happiness and smooth sailing and strength when it can’t be smooth,” he told the audience.

Ryan Seacrest Had to Cancel After Confirming His Attendance

Another major name who missed the wedding was Ryan Seacrest.

The American Idol host revealed that he had already RSVP’d and planned to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s big day, but a last-minute work commitment forced him to change his plans.

Seacrest explained that Disney hired him to host a special Fourth of July program on July 3 and July 4, making it impossible for him to attend the wedding.

“I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the third and the fourth, so I had to cancel,” Seacrest shared.

The television personality admitted he struggled with the decision because he was excited about being part of the couple’s celebration.

“Trust me, I went through the minutes; I couldn’t have done both,” he said, explaining that the wedding ceremony took place in the afternoon.

Harry Styles, Serena Williams and Robert Pattinson Also Missed the Celebration

Several other global stars were also unable to attend.

Harry Styles, Taylor Swift’s former boyfriend and former One Direction member, reportedly missed the wedding because he was on the European leg of his Together Together Tour.

Tennis icon Serena Williams was also absent due to her professional schedule. She had been expected to compete in a Wimbledon doubles match alongside her sister Venus Williams, although Serena later withdrew from the tournament because of injury.

Actor Robert Pattinson was another invited celebrity who could not make it. According to reports, Pattinson was busy filming Batman, preventing him from attending the star-studded occasion.

Unlike many celebrity weddings, Taylor and Travis reportedly chose not to have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen.
