Justin Bieber turned an ordinary afternoon at a Los Angeles park into an unexpected live music moment when he joined a group of musicians for an impromptu jam session.

The 32-year-old singer was spotted at MacArthur Park on Tuesday, Sept. 22, sitting on the grass and playing drums as he performed several of his songs.

Videos shared on TikTok showed Bieber entertaining a small crowd with tracks including “Let Me Love You,” “Speed Demon,” “All I Can Take” and “Yukon.” Other musicians joined him, playing instruments including guitars and tambourines.

Bieber also took time to interact with people who gathered around to watch and record the surprise performance.

One particularly sweet moment came when Bieber greeted a young boy in the crowd.

In footage from the park, the singer shook the boy’s hand and called him “so cute.” A member of Bieber’s group then handed the child a tambourine.

Although the boy did not end up playing the instrument, Bieber and his family encouraged him to join the impromptu musical gathering.

The casual performance offered fans a chance to see Bieber away from a traditional concert stage, surrounded by musicians and enjoying a spontaneous afternoon of music.

The surprise performance comes as Bieber continues balancing his music career with life as a father.

He and Hailey Bieber, 29, share their 2-year-old son, Jack Blues Bieber. The couple have increasingly kept their son out of the public eye, sharing photos that avoid showing his face.

Earlier this month, Justin shared a series of photos showing himself walking hand-in-hand with Jack. The father and son appeared in casual outfits, including matching beanie hats and sneakers.

Hailey previously explained that she and Justin planned to keep Jack’s image private until he is old enough to understand the situation and participate in conversations about it.

Earlier in September, the couple also opened up about their musical tastes in an interview with W Magazine’s WYouth.

Justin revealed that his go-to karaoke song is Chris Brown’s “With You,” a song he famously covered on YouTube when he was 13.

His cover was uploaded in February 2008, more than a year before Bieber released his debut single, “One Time,” in May 2009. The video has since accumulated millions of views.

Hailey chose Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” as her favorite song to sing, while the couple agreed that choosing one favorite artist of all time was too difficult.

For Bieber, however, his latest musical moment was much less planned — and took place not on a major stage, but on the grass at MacArthur Park.
