Serj Tankian joined Tom Morello onstage this weekend to perform Like a Stone at the Power to the People festival, delivering a tribute to the late Chris Cornell.
The performance was held in loving memory of Cornell, the Audioslave and Soundgarden frontman who died in 2017. Tankian’s appearance also marked another collaboration between the System of a Down singer and Morello on the song.
The two musicians previously performed Like a Stone together in 2019, making this weekend’s reunion a return to a song deeply connected to Cornell’s musical legacy.
Morello originally co-wrote and performed the track with Cornell as members of Audioslave, whose self-titled debut album was released in 2002. The song went on to become one of the band’s best-known recordings.
