Florence Pugh and Finn Cole Make Their Red Carpet Debut, but Her Past Comments Reveal What Matters Most

Florence Pugh and Finn Cole have taken a significant step in their relationship, making their first red carpet appearance together at the world premiere of Cole’s new film, In The Shadows, in London.

The couple attended the screening on Friday, October 9, as part of the 70th BFI London Film Festival, held at Vue West End. Pugh, 30, joined Cole to celebrate his latest project, marking a public milestone for the pair after keeping much of their romance private.

For the occasion, Pugh wore a striking corseted gown from Wiederhoeft’s Spring 2027 collection, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray. The dress featured a lavender bodice with a sparkling, embellished bust and a glittering skirt. She completed the look with a silver statement necklace, matching earrings and black nail polish. Her hair was swept back into loose waves, while rosy blush, dark pink lipstick and mascara finished her makeup.

Cole, also 30, opted for a black suit paired with a blue striped dress shirt and black tie.

The premiere offered a rare public glimpse of a relationship that Pugh has gradually become more open about over the past two years. In October 2024, the East of Eden star revealed to British Vogue that she was dating someone new, without initially identifying her partner.

Pugh later confirmed her relationship with Cole on Instagram in March 2026, sharing a carousel that included a photograph of the two actors together at the Bulgari Eclettica High-End Collection launch in Milan, Italy.

She also spoke about their romance in a Vanity Fair cover story published in connection with its October 2026 issue. Pugh explained that while she did not want the relationship to be a secret, she also preferred to keep some aspects of their private life out of public view.

She described feeling safe, solid and secure in the relationship, emphasizing how much that sense of stability meant to her. She also recounted a lighthearted exchange in which she asked Cole whether he might come up during the interview, prompting him to suggest that he could stop by.

Their first red carpet appearance comes as Pugh continues to build an extensive film and television slate. She currently stars in Netflix’s East of Eden and is set to appear in Dune: Part Three, which is scheduled for a theatrical release in December. In May, she was also announced as the lead of the film adaptation of Matt Haig’s bestselling novel The Midnight Library.

Cole, meanwhile, stars in In The Shadows alongside Jasmine Jobson. The film is inspired by the true story of Ramla Ali, Britain’s first female Muslim boxing champion, with Jobson portraying the British-Somali boxer.

Although Pugh and Cole have shared glimpses of their relationship before, stepping onto the red carpet together marks a new chapter in how they appear publicly as a couple. Their decision to make the occasion part of Cole’s film premiere also brings their personal and professional worlds together in a highly visible way.
