Utah singer Keiyana Osmond, 32, gave Sixpence None the Richer’s Kiss Me a completely different sound during her Blind Audition on The Voice, earning a chair turn from Riley Green and leaving fans wondering why he was the only coach who wanted her.
Keiyana slowed down the familiar song and gave it a softer, more soulful feel, putting her own style on a track many viewers already know. Riley turned his chair after hearing the opening moments, but Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah ultimately stayed in their seats.

That meant Riley was automatically Keiyana’s coach.
“I’m so lucky that it’s just me and you,” Riley told her after turning around.

He said he loved both the song and the decision to approach it in a way that not everyone would have chosen. For Riley, that originality could be exactly what helps an artist stand out in the competition.
He also believed Keiyana’s unique choices could eventually help her move forward and potentially win The Voice.
Fans cannot believe Riley was the only coach to turn
Keiyana’s audition quickly sparked discussion among viewers, with many fans saying they were surprised that Adam and Queen did not turn their chairs or even comment on the performance.
One viewer called it one of their favorite auditions of the season and said they were shocked that Riley was the only coach to turn.
Another asked, “How did she not get four chair turns?” while praising the performance as beautiful.
Several fans focused on Keiyana’s unusual vocal tone and the way she changed the familiar song. One viewer said she had an “interesting vocal quality” that felt distinct and memorable, while another praised the way she stripped the song down and brought blues, jazz and soul influences into the arrangement.
Other viewers compared her voice to artists including Sade, Tracy Chapman and Corinne Bailey Rae.
One fan said Keiyana had a “unique independent artistry” that immediately stood out, while another simply wrote that she “killed it.”
Not everyone thought the performance was perfect. One viewer felt the key was too low and suggested that raising it could have helped her voice stand out more clearly against the band.
Still, the overall reaction was strongly positive, with viewers praising her tone, arrangement and ability to make a well-known song feel fresh.
Who is Keiyana Osmond?

Keiyana is a 32-year-old singer-songwriter from Hyrum, Utah, who has been making music for years.
Her journey started at a young age. In 2010, when she was just 16, Keiyana won the Cache County Idol competition at a county fair. She performed The Script’s The Man Who Can’t Be Moved while playing guitar, despite never having taken formal guitar or vocal lessons.
By 2013, she was collaborating with other musicians, regularly posting covers and releasing original music.
After taking time away from releasing music, Keiyana has recently begun sharing new songs again. Her latest releases include Like That and Things Take Time.
Keiyana has described Things Take Time as a deeply personal song that she wrote several years ago. She said the song helped her reconnect with a part of herself that she had lost and that perfectionism had previously stopped her from releasing it.
Her return to music has now led her to The Voice, where her unusual take on Kiss Me immediately gave Riley Green a reason to turn.
Riley Green gets another artist for Team Green

The timing of Keiyana’s audition was also important because the coaches were nearing the end of their Blind Auditions.
Heading into the October 5 episode, Adam had five spots left on his team, while Kelly, Queen and Riley each had only four spaces remaining. With every coach’s First In Button already used, each remaining chair turn had to be carefully considered.
For Keiyana, Riley made his decision quickly.
And while fans continue to question why the other coaches passed on her, Riley now has an artist whose biggest strength may be exactly what he noticed during her audition: the ability to take a familiar song and make it sound completely her own.
Keiyana will continue Season 30 as a member of Team Riley Green.
