The Voice is getting its biggest makeover yet.
When Season 31 arrives in 2027, fans won’t just see a new group of coaches. The NBC singing competition is also introducing a brand-new host, a different coaching format, and a fresh concept centered entirely on celebrity contestants.

Keke Palmer takes over as host
For the first time since The Voice premiered in 2011, Carson Daly will no longer host the series.
After leading the show through its first 30 seasons, Daly is stepping away from hosting duties but will remain involved behind the scenes as a producer.
Taking over the stage is Emmy-winning actress and television personality Keke Palmer.
Palmer currently hosts the popular game show Password, a role that earned her the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show in 2024. She also hosts the podcast Baby, This Is Keke Palmer and has become known for creating some of social media’s most talked-about viral moments.

The announcement leaned into one of those viral trends. After fans shared clips of Palmer saying, “This is The Voice” in different styles, she officially confirmed the news herself.
“That’s right, it’s true! I am hosting The Voice! I’ll see you guys there!” Palmer said.
Although this is her first time hosting the NBC competition, she’s already familiar with the world of singing shows after serving as a mentor during the previous season of American Idol.
Season 31 will feature only three coaches
The coaching lineup is changing as well.
Instead of the traditional four-chair panel, Season 31 will feature just three coaches.
Queen Latifah and Riley Green are both returning after making their coaching debuts in Season 30.
Joining them is Joe Jonas, who follows in the footsteps of his younger brother Nick Jonas, a coach during Seasons 18 and 20.
Joe is no stranger to The Voice franchise. He previously served as a coach on The Voice Australia in 2018 and has also appeared as both a mentor and advisor on the U.S. version.
The show introduced the new panel through a playful social media video that showed Joe working as a security guard, checking in each coach before eventually letting himself onto the set.
With Blind Auditions already filming, it appears production on Season 31 is officially underway.

A new name and an all celebrity competition
Season 31 won’t just look different. It will also have a new title.
The upcoming season will be called The Voice: Celebrity.
According to the show’s announcement, the competition will feature well-known faces from a wide range of industries, including actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television personalities.
The goal is to give viewers a chance to watch celebrities step outside their comfort zones while showing talents fans may have never seen before.
To support the new format, several behind-the-scenes segments are being added throughout the season.

Voice Boot Camp will give fans a closer look at how celebrity contestants prepare before stepping onto the Blind Auditions stage.
The VIP Room will serve as the backstage viewing area where contestants watch one another perform while waiting for their own turn.
Meanwhile, the Workroom will follow the celebrities as they rehearse, plan strategies, and prepare for the Battle Rounds.
When will Season 31 premiere?
NBC has not announced an official premiere date for The Voice: Celebrity.
Based on the show’s recent schedule, however, the new season is expected to debut in late February 2027, similar to the launch of The Voice: Battle of Champions earlier in 2026.
Before then, fans can look forward to Season 30, featuring Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Adam Levine, and Kelly Clarkson. That season is scheduled to premiere on September 21.
With a new host, a smaller coaching panel, celebrity contestants, and several brand-new features, Season 31 is shaping up to be one of the biggest changes in The Voice history.
