The Voice fans all make the same request for Blake Shelton and a major format change ahead of the season 30 premiere

The Voice season 30 has not even premiered yet, but fans already know one coach they want to see back in the famous red chair: Blake Shelton.

The new season is set to premiere on September 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green and Queen Latifah will guide a new group of talented singers, but many longtime viewers are still hoping the show’s original coach will make another appearance.

Blake Shelton Plans to 'Say Yes' to Personal Life After 'The Voice'

Ahead of the season premiere, The Voice invited fans to submit questions for the new coaching panel. The show’s social media team encouraged viewers to ask about everything from their favorite performances over the past 30 seasons to funny behind-the-scenes memories.

“Ask our Coaches anything,” the July 21 post read. “From your favorite performance of the last 30 seasons to the most hilarious behind-the-scenes moments. Got a question for them? Drop it below.”

However, instead of asking Kelly, Adam, Riley or Queen Latifah about the upcoming season, many fans used the comment section to call for Blake’s return.

“This is for Blake Shelton: Man, we need you back to The Voice, to face off Adam and Kelly, in one season with only three of you,” one fan wrote.

Another commenter shared, “Anything with Blake in it is hilarious and fun! I miss him!”

“Blake Shelton, please come back,” another fan added.

Blake became one of the original coaches when The Voice premiered in 2011. He remained on the show from season 1 through season 23, which aired in the spring of 2023.

After spending 12 years in the famous red chair, Blake decided to leave the competition. During his time on the show, he coached nine winning artists, making him one of the most successful mentors in The Voice history.

Why Did Blake Shelton Quit 'The Voice'? Everything to Know – Hollywood Life

In 2023, Blake explained to Access Hollywood that his decision to step away was connected to his desire to spend more time with his family.

He said he wanted to focus on being a better husband to Gwen Stefani and a more present stepfather to her three sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

“I think the only way for me to really [parent] right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time,” Blake said at the time.

“There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 100 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job.”

What Are Blake Shelton's 'The Voice' Winners Up to Now?

Although Blake has not announced any plans to return to the coaching panel, fans are clearly still holding out hope.

With Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson both returning for season 30, viewers are now imagining what it would be like to see the three original favorites compete against one another again.

For now, Blake’s comeback remains only a wish from loyal fans. But as the comments continue to show, many viewers would be more than ready to welcome him back to The Voice.
