Adam Levine found a voice he could not let slip away during the latest Blind Auditions on The Voice Season 30.
Dakota Cohen, 25, took the stage on Monday, Oct. 5, and delivered an emotional version of Black Sabbath’s Changes. The song, first released on the band’s 1972 album Vol. 4, gave Cohen a chance to show off a darker and more powerful side of her voice.

It took nearly the entire performance, but Levine and fellow coach Riley Green finally turned their chairs. Queen Latifah also praised the audition, calling it “astounding” and “insane,” while Green said Cohen had picked the “perfect song.”
Levine was especially quick to make his case for Cohen.
“The song choice for me says so much,” he explained, making it clear that her song selection immediately caught his attention. He also pointed out that he had pressed his button first and said he wanted her on his team before he had even heard her sing.
The longtime coach went even further when describing Cohen’s voice, comparing it to Miley Cyrus. Levine told the singer that he loved what she was doing and believed The Voice was the right place for her.

Cohen eventually chose Team Adam, but Levine had another advantage that went beyond what happened on stage.
She revealed that the two had crossed paths years earlier at a restaurant, where Levine gave her a thumbs-up after hearing her sing Maroon 5’s Sunday Morning. That small moment stayed with Cohen and helped make her decision even easier when the coaches came calling.
Her song choice also carried extra meaning because of its connection to Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne originally sang Changes with Black Sabbath before recording a new version with his daughter Kelly Osbourne in 2003. Their duet later topped the U.K. singles chart.
Osbourne died in July 2025 at age 76, shortly after Black Sabbath’s farewell concert. Following his death, Changes returned to the charts, making Cohen’s performance of the emotional classic even more meaningful.

With Cohen now joining Team Adam, Levine has added another standout voice to his Season 30 team as the Blind Auditions move closer to the next stage of the competition.
The Voice Season 30 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with new episodes available to stream on Peacock the following day.
