Adam Lambert reveals the surprising financial benefits he has enjoyed after touring with Queen for more than a decade

Adam Lambert is looking back on his long-running partnership with Queen and says the experience has been one of the most rewarding parts of his career, both personally and financially.

The former American Idol Season 8 runner-up recently appeared on The Person Who Believed in Me podcast, where he reflected on performing with Brian May and Roger Taylor for more than a decade. Lambert first joined the legendary rock band for live performances in 2012.

“It’s been amazing,” Lambert said. He explained that simply being on stage with May and Taylor while they performed Queen’s classic songs taught him a great deal. According to the singer, the experience of standing beside musicians who helped create some of the most famous rock songs ever has had a powerful influence on him.

Lambert also spoke honestly about the financial side of the partnership.

“Queen really did put some coins in the bank, which was nice,” he said, adding that he feels he has worked hard for the money he has earned through years of touring and performing.

The singer became a fan favorite during American Idol in 2009, when he finished in second place behind Kris Allen. Even after all these years, Lambert said he still thinks about the audience every time he performs.

“I really want everyone to enjoy themselves,” he shared, saying he is always focused on making sure fans have a great experience at his shows.

Lambert is also entering a new chapter as a solo artist. Earlier this month, he released his sixth studio album, ADAM, which is his first independent album released through his own label, More Is More. The 12-track project includes songs such as EAT U ALIVE and UNDER THE RHYTHM.

Adam Lambert Says Touring with Queen Gave Him Once‑in‑a‑Lifetime Moments

His most recent performances with Queen came during The Rhapsody Tour in 2024. Since then, Brian May and Roger Taylor reunited on stage in 2025 for a special performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody during Last Night of the Proms.

While no new Queen tour with Lambert has been announced, the singer’s comments have fans hoping that the successful partnership is not over yet.
