The Voice has released a new look at one of the most unexpected moments from its Season 30 premiere, showing coach Riley Green leaving his famous red chair to join 19-year-old contestant Joe Henley for a surprise performance of “My Way.”
The newly shared video gives viewers a different angle from inside the studio, showing the crowd’s view as Green walks onto the stage with his guitar and joins Henley for the impromptu duet.
Henley first caught everyone’s attention during his Blind Audition with Travis Tritt’s “Anymore.” His deep baritone voice immediately impressed Green and Kelly Clarkson, who both turned their chairs for the young Alabama singer.
Green was especially impressed.
“You’re amazing, dude. You are amazing. You sound fantastic,” the first-time coach told Henley.
After learning more about the teenager’s musical influences, Green asked Henley if he was one of them. Henley revealed that Green was actually his number one, telling him, “I didn’t get to my number one.”
The moment got even better when Henley revealed that his favorite Riley Green song was “My Way.”

Green did not waste any time. He left his chair, grabbed his guitar and joined Henley on stage for the song from his new album, That’s Just Me. Henley took the lead while Green sang alongside him, with Clarkson even joining in with harmonies from her chair.
The audience view of the performance gives fans a closer look at the interaction between the two country singers and the crowd’s reaction as they shared the stage.
The duet also helped make Henley’s decision even more personal. When it was time to pick a coach, he told Clarkson, “I love you Miss Kelly,” before choosing “Mr. Riley Green.”
Green celebrated by giving Henley a pair of Team Riley Carhartt bib overalls, officially making the teenager his first team member of Season 30.
