His live duet with GRAMMY-winning artist Jonathan McReynolds of “Still” at the 2025 Stellar Gospel Music Awards had the audience on their feet, raising their hands in praise.

Recorded live in Chicago, Illinois, “Still” is a reflective ballad celebrating the steadfast love of God through life’s challenges. The 40th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, themed “OUR MUSIC, OUR VOICE, OUR CULTURE,” was filmed at the historic Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN. Hosted by Stellar and GRAMMY Award-winning duo BeBe and CeCe Winans, the awards show aired on BET on August 31, 2025, and celebrated gospel music’s rich heritage. The evening featured performances by Nathan Davis Jr., Todd Dulaney, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and many more, with Roberts and McReynolds’ duet quickly becoming one of the most memorable moments of the night.

Central City Productions also announced the STELLAR PLUS experience for fans and industry insiders, offering two days of immersive events ahead of the awards. The 40th ceremony included guest presenters such as Lil Rel Howery, Dante Bowe, and Trina Braxton. Executive Producer Don Jackson, founder of the Stellar Network, received the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award, highlighting his contributions to gospel music.

Since winning American Idol, Jamal Roberts has made significant strides on the charts. His single “Mississippi” debuted at No. 4 on the R B Digital Song Sales chart and No. 5 on the R B Hip Hop Digital Song Sales tally.

Meanwhile, his gospel hit “Heal” continues to perform strongly, reaching No. 7 on the Gospel Digital Song Sales chart and No. 21 on the Hot Gospel Songs tally. Roberts’ ability to succeed across both gospel and R B charts highlights his versatility as a recording artist.
