Brooks Rosser may have been eliminated from American Idol, but he still got the girl! Just days after he was voted off the show on April 27, Brooks reunited with girlfriend Rae Boyd, who had been sent home two weeks earlier.
The couple posed together in a sweet photo from their date night, which Brooks posted on his Instagram Story. Rae reposted the image on her own page and captioned it, “Night out : ).”

While Brooks and Rae met on American Idol, they’re from the same area in Maryland, which made it easy for them to link up once they both got home from the show. On May 11, they’ll both head back to Los Angeles to take part in the Season 24 finale, where a winner will be crowned and the previously-eliminated finalists will also perform.

After Rae was eliminated on April 13, she returned to American Idol for the April 20 episode to surprise Brooks after his Top 9 performance. This was the pair’s official “hard-launch,” as they finally confirmed they were dating following much fan speculation.
The romance began back in Maryland after auditions and Hollywood Week were filmed last fall. “In between rounds, we kind of hung out and we clicked,” Brooks told Swooon and other media outlets after debuting the romance.

In an interview with Swooon, Rae revealed that even the other contestants were in the dark about her relationship with Brooks. “When they found out we were dating, they were like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so fun and exciting,” she shared. “Everyone just got excited about it. There’s so much negativity in the world, so when there’s a love story, it’s like … everyone just wants to hear about it and highlight that stuff. When you have a partner, I feel like you just want to shout to the world that you’re together. We weren’t able to do that for a little bit, so after, we were like, ‘Finally! We can tell the world!’”

On the episode when he was eliminated, Brooks divulged that he and Rae have already used the “L word” with each other. Moving forward, they’re excited for some normalcy.
“[We want to] be in a normal relationship,” Rae confirmed. “Just living. And we both have our careers to look forward to, so staying focused in that regard.”
