The Voice has aired 28 seasons so far, which means that 28 artists have earned the winner’s title over the years. Which one of these champions has had the biggest career? Let’s take a look at some of the top contenders.
Who is the Biggest The Voice Winner?
There are a number of factors to consider when assessing which winner of The Voice has been the biggest — including social media following, record sales, and other opportunities after the show.

If we consider how many Instagram followers each winner has, Season 3’s Cassadee Pope comes out on top, with over 588,000 followers as of this writing. Other winners with impressive Instagram followings include Season 4’s Danielle Bradbery (with over 460,000), Season 5’s Tessanne Chin (with over 311,000), Season 20’s Cam Anthony (with over 218,000), and Season 14’s Brynn Cartelli (with over 201,000).

In addition to boasting over half a million Instagram followers, Cassadee Pope is also hard to beat when it comes to record sales. Her debut single “Wasting All These Tears” sold over a million copies. It was certified platinum along with her 2016 single “Think of You,” which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Country chart.
However, one might argue that Pope had an advantage, because she was already fairly well-known before her time on The Voice as the lead singer of the band Hey Monday. Although winning the show certainly boosted her following, she wasn’t a total unknown before.
Who Else Is in the Running?
Would you consider Cassadee Pope to be the biggest winner in The Voice history? Or would you disregard the number of Instagram followers and look at other factors? That might put Season 9 winner Jordan Smith in the running.
After winning his season, Smith became the first artist to hold the top two spots on Billboard’s Christian Songs chart simultaneously. His debut album, Something Beautiful, reached No. 1 on iTunes. He also went on to write the song “Ashes,” which was sung by Celine Dion for the Deadpool 2 soundtrack.
It’s interesting that both Pope and Smith — who were both four-chair turns in their Blind Auditions — won seasons in the first third of The Voice’s run on NBC. Even former coach Blake Shelton has admitted that most of the show’s winners have not become superstars.

In case you forgot, Pope competed on Shelton’s team in her season. Smith, meanwhile, competed on Adam Levine’s team. Both singers are still making music, as they both released new albums in 2024.
Do you agree that Cassadee Pope and Jordan Smith are possibly the two biggest success stories from The Voice? Who would you choose? Let us know on X!
