The Voice recently shared behind-the-scenes from the recording session of Sofronio Vasquez and his former coach, Michael Bublé, for “My Grown Up Christmas List,” a single from Sofronio’s upcoming extended play (EP).

According to the video uploaded on The Voice’s YouTube channel, Sofronio entered the studio on August 4 to record a new version of the beloved holiday classic. The session was organized by Michael and took place in Los Angeles, California, at the home studio of Grammy-nominated engineer Jorge Vivo.

Micheal also brought on board the legendary producer and songwriter David Foster for the recording, who will also produce the EP. David famously discovered Michael early in his career, signing him on to his label and producing several of his breakout records.

Michael also invited music icon Paul Anka, who is his longtime friend and mentor, to stop by the session.

“This is the beautiful team that believed in this dude (referring to Sofronio) just how they believed in me when I was lucky enough to have the same kind of team,” Michael said in the video.

He added: “The hope of so many beautiful people in Southeast Asia… that this guy brought a lot of hope to that it can happen for them too so we thought that we will make a beautiful record and get great distribution and just keep going.”

“We got four songs from the show, one song that is original that I wrote, and one duet of a Christmas thing and this one,” Michael shared on what he plans to put on Sofronio’s EP.

Reflecting on the recording session, Sofronio remarked: “I was working in front of the icons that I’ve known forever and they are my heroes so I’m blessed today and this goes out to many dreamers out there. You just have to dream and just keep knocking doors because he opened it for me.”

The single “My Grown Up Christmas List” was released in November 2025.

After the said recording session, Sofronio came back to Jorge’s home studio to record a trio performance of “My Way” with Michael and Paul. The single will be released in early 2026.
