A Jaw-Dropping C.o.nfession! Breanna Nix Shatters the Silence on Her American Idol Season 23 Audition, Exposing S.h.ocking Truths

American Idol season 23 frontrunner Breanna Nix opens up about why she didn’t take her audition seriously because she didn’t think that she’d make it onto the show. Breanna, a 25-year-old stay-at-home mom from Denton, Texas, stunned the judges–Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan–with her beautiful rendition of Carrie’s song, “Jesus, Take The Wheel.” After her American Idol season 23 Top 24 performance, Breanna had to dispel a rumor that she quit the show for a record deal, and she has now advanced to the Top 14.

Breanna shared that she didn’t have confidence in herself when she auditioned for American Idol season 23, and she thought of submitting her video audition as something of a joke.

In an interview with People, Breanna shared that she didn’t have confidence in herself when she auditioned for American Idol season 23, and, therefore, she thought of submitting her video audition as something of a joke. She revealed, “When I tried out for American Idol, I didn’t really think that it would go anywhere. It was kind of just a joke when I submitted a video and here we are.”

Now that Breanna has advanced so far in the competition, she’s grateful for what American Idol has given her. She said, “I’ve grown so much as a person, and in my personal opinion, American Idol has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s taught me who I am. It’s taught me what I’m capable of.” Breanna gave credit to the “incredible people” she’s met on the show who’ve “supported” and “believed” in her.

Breanna also shared that she didn’t have much self-worth before American Idol, but that’s all changing now. She confessed, “I think I’m starting to believe in myself, which is really weird because for my whole life I didn’t think I was worth anything. But I really like it. I’m capable of really hard things… Singing, that has always actually been an insecurity of mine to do in front of people. I didn’t think that I was good enough to do it.”

What Breanna Nix’s Lack Of Confidence Means For American Idol

Breanna Should Be Proud Of What She’s Achieved On The Show

When Breanna auditioned for American Idol, she brought her young son into the audition room with her, and introduced herself as “just a stay-at-home mom.” Carrie told her never to describe herself that way because she has the most important job. It was evident during Breanna’s audition that she didn’t have confidence in herself, but, when she sang “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” she had a transformation.

Breanna’s blossoming before American Idol viewers’ eyes as she advances through each round. Her performances have been phenomenal, including “You Say” by Lauren Daigle (Idol Arena), “The Trouble With Love Is” by Kelly Clarkson (Showstoppers), “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake (Head-to-Head round with Rylie O’Neil), “Still Rolling Stones” by Lauren Daigle (Top 24), and “Up To The Mountain” by Patty Griffin (Top 20). When Breanna advanced to the Top 14, she sang a triumphant version of “The Show Must Go On” by Queen for her celebration song. She should be so proud of what she’s achieved on American Idol so far.

Our Take On Breanna Nix Not Taking Audition Process Seriously

Breanna Is Exactly What American Idol Is All About

The fact that Breanna didn’t take her American Idol audition too seriously and thought of it as a joke at first shows that she wasn’t desperate for fame. Some of the American Idol Top 24 contestants were former contestants from other reality singing competition shows, and they’ve been trying to make it in the music industry for many years. While there’s nothing particularly wrong with this, there is something more special about a person such as Breanna coming on to the show with no prior performing experience and finding her voice.

Breanna represents exactly what American Idol is all about. She’s growing and changing and learning to love herself through her journey, and it’s been beautiful to watch. I love seeing her gain confidence and self-worth as she graces us with her phenomenal performances. I can’t wait to see what Breanna does next. I really do believe that she could be the next American Idol.
