Armie Hammer Spotted Working As A Resort Employee: Is This The End of His Hollywood Career?

More than a year after his career was decimated by widespread sexual misconduct allegations, former Hollywood star Armie Hammer has resurfaced in a drastically different setting. The actor, famous for his role in Call Me By Your Name, was photographed in the Cayman Islands, leading many to believe he has traded his multi-million dollar acting career for a role as a timeshare salesman at a resort.
The Viral Rumors and Ad Campaign
The initial speculation about Hammer’s unexpected new career began last week after a viral post was shared on Twitter. The post featured an image of an advertisement from a prominent resort in the Cayman Islands that included Hammer’s photo, suggesting the 36-year-old actor was an employee. One user shared that a friend’s parents, who were vacationing there, claimed Armie Hammer was their “special instructor”. Although the original tweet was quickly deleted, the image—and the intense discussion—had already spread across social media.
The Visual Evidence of His New Life
Despite initial reports that the actor was not an employee of the resort, TMZ soon released photographs that fueled the belief that Hammer was, in fact, working at the luxury location. The images, reportedly taken last month, show the actor in the resort area wearing a light blue polo shirt and dark blue pants. He was seen heading to an office with a man similarly dressed.
Multiple photographs depicted Hammer sitting and seemingly working as a timeshare employee, enthusiastically advising a group about the benefits of property ownership at the attractive vacation spot. Timeshare is understood as a shared vacation ownership of property, often high-end resorts or condos. These images led to immense public discussion, with many suggesting the star had decided to leave Hollywood permanently following the scandals, starting a new chapter in his life. Others speculated he might be researching for a new acting role.
The Confusing Resort Denial
Amid the intense public questioning, Chris Butcher, the Director of Sales for the resort in question, stepped forward to clarify the situation. Butcher confirmed that Armie Hammer is not an employee.

The Director explained that the actor, who has been living primarily in the Cayman Islands to avoid attention, was playing golf with a staff member when he was invited to observe the sales operation. Butcher shared that Hammer “came and stayed with us for a few days, just observing us work, observing different employees in the office to learn what they do“. Butcher further insisted that the flyer circulating with Hammer’s face was simply a joke intended to attract attention. The manager suggested that the viral photos showing Hammer consulting with clients may have been taken while the actor was “imitating” the working style of those around him. He did add, however, that if the star wanted a job, they would hire him immediately. Hammer’s team has not yet offered a response regarding the latest employment controversy.

The Scandal That Drove Him Away
These rumors appear more than a year after Armie Hammer was engulfed in a severe sexual misconduct scandal in January 2021, shortly after his divorce from TV personality Elizabeth Chambers was announced. The controversy involved the leak of disturbing messages and accusations of sexual abuse, bizarre, violent sexual fetishes, and allegations of rape.
Though Hammer denied the allegations, his reputation was severely damaged. He was cut from major projects, including the film Shotgun Wedding (co-starring Jennifer Lopez), and vanished from subsequent television, film, and Broadway projects. The last film he appeared in was Death on the Nile, released in February 2022. Hammer has mainly been living in the Cayman Islands to avoid public attention since the controversy began.
